YOUR DATA
Privacy
How the website and apps handle your data. Direct access to Nagios is at the heart of it.
The essentials
No NagWatch account, no advertising and no first-party analytics. The apps connect directly to your Nagios servers. Credentials are stored in your device’s Keychain.

This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes data necessary to deliver and secure the site: IP address, time, requested address and browser identifier. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The site code we provide sets no cookies, loads no external fonts or scripts and includes no analytics or tracking services. Your choice of light or dark app screenshots is not stored persistently.
Cloudflare and international processing
Cloudflare operates a global network. Processing may therefore take place outside the EU or EEA, particularly in the USA. Cloudflare refers to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for US transfers and standard contractual clauses for other cases. See Cloudflare’s data processing terms for details.
Retention of technical data
This website does not write its own access logs. Cloudflare’s retention of technical data depends on the service, processing purpose and legal obligations. Cloudflare explains its criteria in its privacy policy.
Contact by email
If you write to support@nagwatch.de, we process your email address, your name if provided, and the content and technical transmission data of your message to respond to your enquiry.
Our email mailbox is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS processes messages to provide the email service. See IONOS’s privacy information for details.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual enquiries, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other enquiries, our legitimate interest in responding to requests. We delete correspondence once the enquiry has been resolved and there is no further reason to retain it. Statutory retention obligations and retention necessary to establish or defend legal claims remain unaffected.
Contacting us is voluntary. We cannot reply without a reachable email address. Please do not send passwords or other credentials.
Your Nagios installations
The apps store server addresses and settings locally on each device. Username and password are held in Keychain without iCloud synchronisation. Hosts, services, status, output and comments are retrieved directly from your device to your configured Nagios installation over HTTPS.
Retrieved data stays locally on your iPhone or Mac. The app may keep a local cache for widgets and the most recent status. Server profiles and local app data may be included in your own device backups. We do not receive your Nagios credentials or monitoring data.
Notifications and background checks
On iPhone, optional background checks may occasionally query your servers directly and generate local notifications. iOS determines when these checks run.
While running, the Mac app regularly queries your servers directly and can generate local notifications for new problems. Opening a host in a browser or over SSH connects that application directly to the destination. These features do not use a NagWatch push relay.
Purchases
NagWatch Pro is planned as an in-app purchase through the App Store. The purchase applies to iPhone and Mac using the same Apple Account. Apple handles the purchase; we do not receive payment details. The apps verify purchase entitlements provided by Apple using StoreKit.
Crash reports
The apps include no first-party analytics services. If you allow your iPhone or Mac to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports and usage statistics.
Planned push service
An optional connector and push relay are planned for a later release. They are not currently offered as an available service on this website. Before release, this privacy policy will be extended with the actual data flows, service providers, retention periods and deletion options.
The current design plans end-to-end encryption of hostnames, service names and output on the Nagios server. Nagios credentials are not intended to reach the relay. Explore the plans.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Articles 15 to 20 GDPR). Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Contact support@nagwatch.de to exercise your rights.
Objecting to legitimate-interest processing
You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR).
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the Member State of your habitual residence, workplace or the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for our location is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
Local data and deletion
Saved servers can be removed in the app. Server profiles and credentials do not sync between devices, so they are managed separately on iPhone and Mac. Manage your own backups through your devices’ backup features. Local settings and caches are kept on your device for app use; we have no access to them.
Required information and automated decisions
Connection data is necessary to deliver this website. Direct app access requires the address and login for your Nagios installation on your device; these are not sent to us. We do not use the personal data described here for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, or for profiling.
